A$AP Found Guilty by Swedish Court:Did U.S. Help or Hurt His Case?

by G. Brown
Rapper Rocky was found guilty by a Stockholm District Court on charges of assault following that June street fight he and his bodyguards got involved in.
A$ap had pleaded not guilty and says he was acting in self-defense in the brawl in which he was accused of beating 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari outside a fast-food restaurant in Stockholm. Jafari claims A$ap and his guards “kicked him” and kept hitting.
The rapper is still able to walk away from any jail time. The conviction means suspended prison time for the rapper. He is ordered to pay a total of $1,307 in fines.
His attorney says he was very disappointed by the verdict and says the case should have ended in Rocky’s acquittal. Many of the rapper’s fans agree…
There’s literally video of Rocky explaining the whole situation prior to the fight happening and he explained what was going on on his IG not too long after
It was self defense and he was being followed for a few blocks.

Yeah nah, I’m sorry in this world of mass shootings and stabbings and people losing their lives for no reason. If you are in a group and your getting followed constantly and y’all are in fear of ur safety and livelihood in a environment ur unfamiliar with you get what comes.

Not everyone thinks Rocky was innocent. Some say as a Black celebrity in a foreign land, the burden of proof wasn’t the only burden on Rocky.
Exactly!! ASAP is a celebrity and should have a little more common sense when it came to the handling of the situation. He has way more to lose

Yes I agree that they were the victim at first, and their self defense claim could have worked. But neither of those things are the case anymore once 3-4 of them started beating up on the dude. He deserved some of it, but they took it too far for it to be defense.

As social media proves once again, Americans are always willing to exercise free speech and voice their opinions. But did that ‘free speech’ hurt A$ap’s case when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West tried to throw their celebrity clout behind him. Prior to A$ap actually being charged, Kim and Kanye tried to make an appeal on his behalf. Kim then flexed her “My Daddy was a lawyer” muscles and tried to use her Whitehouse connections to intervene and set the rapper free. The Swedish Court made it clear it would not tolerate outside influence from anyone and eventually, A$ap was found guilty.
Was justice served? It was in the eyes of Sweeden. It’s their country, their law which they say was violated. Self-defense is one thing, but celebrity should never be a defense. We’ve seen too many celebrities and politicians who think they’re above the law while too many people who can’t afford legal help sentenced to long jail terms because they don’t have money to pay to get out of jail.

A$AP Rocky fought out of self-defense. The only thing he is guilty of (in a European country) is being black. My honest opinion.
