Another tragedy has struck the hip-hop nation as the world learns that yet another member of Cali Swag District has passed away.
Cahron JayAre Childs passed away on June 6 after going into cardiac arrest while in the hospital. He was 25 years old. According to MTV News, Childs suffered a longtime battle with sickle cell anemia. He was admitted to the hospital on Thursday for unknown reasons and died the next day. Cali Swag District originated in Inglewood, Calif. They are mostly known for their hit singles “Teach Me How to Dougie” (2010) and “Where You Are” (2010). Their debut album The Kickback was released in 2011, and it peaked at number 21 on US Rap charts.
News of JayAre’s passing came as a shock to fans and celebrities. The other members of Cali Swag District took to Twitter to express their sadness and condolences. One of the rappers from CSD, Corey “Smoove Da General” Fowler tweeted on June 7: “Rest in peace Jayare I’m gonna miss u forever ..I will never get over this..but I know God got u..and I know You got me.”
