Being the child of a superstar duo can come with a lot of pressure. People wonder if you will be as talented as your parents. Whether the child likes it or not, they are in the spotlight and can start their career almost as soon as they exit the womb.
Recently, power couple Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats were seen front and center at the Ralph Lauren Children’s fall 2014 fashion show, but they weren’t there for just the clothes.
In October of 2010 the pair gave birth to their son, Egypt Dean. Alicia chose the name Egypt, after her breakthrough moment visiting the country. Egypt has stayed under the radar of tabloids. Perhaps the most memorable moment was when Egypt shared an innocent kiss with Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy.
Egypt was chosen to walk in Ralph Lauren’s fall 2014 children’s show which took place at the New York City Public Library in support of literacy. The brand is an American classic with over forty years of service.
Egypt landed the closing look and strutted alongside Lauren himself. Egypt was spotted rocking a tailored wool blazer accompanied with an adorable puppy sweater and plaid pants. He lit up with excitement as he walked the runway.
This may have been a children’s show but the job wasn’t a walk in the park. The runway was an entire city block long. There was an estimated two hundred people in attendance as the children debuted sixty one looks. Despite the requirements, the show went smoothly. In fact, it was reported that there were no temper tantrums from any of the children participating in the show.
With a super producer for a father and a triple threat for a mother it was almost inevitable that Egypt performed with poise.
