“Bad Boys For Life”-The Good And The Bad After 17 years, Miami’s finest officers Mike Lowrey(Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett(Martin Lawrence) are back together for one last ride(?) on the big screen. Mike survives an assassin’s attempt on his life and now is out to track down who wants him dead. Even though director Michael Bay didn’t return for this reunion, the explosive franchise still had plenty of explosions and violence to keep serial fans sitting on the edge of their seats. Some critics pan the movie as more of the same Mike and Marcus wise-cracking and shooting their way through an investigation, but that apparently is what fans were here for. The chemistry and rapid-fire exchange from the two comedy giants was the right formula for audiences to give the movie a much higher rating than the critics. As Mike looked for the person who done him wrong, Marcus was looking forward to retirement and more than willing to trade-in the fast and furious cars for a mini-van. Some new and much younger faces(Vanessa Hudgens and Paola Nunez) were added to the mix to reel in younger moviegoers. For fans of the franchise, this movie is a sentimental return to all the action, violence and comedy that made the first two “Bad Boys” installations a hit. While critics blow the movie off as ‘been there, seen that’, fans are much more enthusiastic for the return of one of their favorite duos. Some fans even say “The Bad Boys” saved the best for last. You can make up your own mind about “Bad Boys For Life” when it hits theaters nationwide January 17.
