Another day, another person overreaching their delusions of grandeur and influence to protect the current president. Today’s harakiri soldier…Herman Cain.
The pizza magnate shared recently with entertainment news outlet TMZ that Blacks “are getting brainwashed according to the news that they watch. It’s been statistically shown that certain stations, certain news outlets, they simply aren’t telling the entire truth. And in some cases, people are being brainwashed.”
Cain argues that Trump has done a lot to help the Black community such as criminal justice reform and pushing Black unemployment to record lows (thanks to former President Obama, not Trump). Yet, Cain complains that Blacks aren’t giving Trump enough credit because they are being “brainwashed by the media they consume, which he suggests in anti-Trump.”
So Cain just thinks all Black people watch the same news or read the same papers? Or maybe he thinks all Blacks are of a hive mind and share the same knowledge or opinion. You know, a collective intelligence like the Borg on Star Trek. Only throw out that analogy because Cain has one spaced out theory. Actually, it’s total brown-nosing B.S. but such a harsh condemnation might seem part of the vast liberal biased media conspiracy.
Cain’s argument of Black people being brainwashed into disliking Trump is ridiculous for a couple of reasons. The most obvious of which is this– Cain is a Black Trump supporter! Now, perhaps from his ivory tower as he looks down on the rest of the Blacks, he thinks he’s smarter than the average Black and brainwashing doesn’t work on him. Or maybe he’s free thinker like another Trump supporter Kanye…politically astute like Candace Owens…or just in it for the limelight like Cubic zirconia and Polyester—I mean Diamond and Silk.
And what about all the White people who don’t support Trump? Are they brainwashed too? It’s insulting to imply that Black people are too dumb to think for themselves and are being spoonfed opinions by newscasters and TV hosts. Just like the majority of the country, Blacks listen to/watch whatever news outlets, hear the information, digest it and come to their own individual conclusions.
Maybe Cain is the one who’s been brainwashed by his friendship with Trump into thinking he’s a better person than the one the majority of the voting population is seeing. Cain is an ardent supporter and loyal Trump friend. Trump even picked his pizza pal to serve on the Federal Reserve Board, but Cain withdrew last month.
Lastly, Cain is trying to brainwash Blacks into liking Trump by explaining to Blacks that they are being brainwashed into not liking him. The argument kind of implodes on itself.
Bottom line, there was wasn’t some inner circle email to all Blacks not to like Trump. The majority of Black voters don’t like Trump for a myriad of reasons –Russian ties, porn star pay-offs, dog whistling rhetoric to White supremacists, chronic lying, profiteering from the office, cozying up to N. Korea, nepotism and cronyism in broad daylight– and so many other potential reasons. But above all else, the majority of Blacks don’t support Trump because they choose not to support him. That’s their constitutional right. At least, for right now it is their constitutional right.
What do you think…are Blacks jumping in on a pile on and hating Trump because it’s trending? Has Trump done a lot to help the Black community? Is Cain kind of full of it?
