50 Cent Presents
If you’ve been wondering how you can get more Curtis Jackson in your life, pretty soon all you will have to do is tune into A&E to catch his new show, “50 Cent Presents,” which he is an executive producer of. There aren’t any reports regarding whether or not 50 will be hosting the show, but it is expected to air sometime in 2017.
50 Cent Presents is going to be a variety show that will feature music, standup comedy, dancing, and even some magic…? It should be interesting to say the least. According to Frontain Bryant, the head of programming for A&E:
“50 Cent is the perfect partner to refresh this classic format. He is a true tastemaker across industries and we are excited to see his impressive showcase of talent.”
We shall see…
Kelly Rowland’s Cosmetic Line for Dark Skinned Women
The cosmetic world has been geared toward the lighter side of the skin tone spectrum for far too long, and Kelly Rowland is taking it upon herself to design cosmetics especially for ladies with darker skin.
On creating the line, she says: “It’s just a trip to me. One of the things I looked for [in the new girl group] first was chocolate girls because I feel it’s so necessary for my niece, my unborn kid, she has to see more chocolate women.”
She goes on to say that she was inspired by women like Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson, and most recently, by Michelle Obama. “No disrespect for lighter women, but we have to see all colors,” she remarked.
Although more makeup manufacturers are creating cosmetics geared toward ladies with a darker complexion, there is still a strong connection between beauty and whiteness, as there are increasing amounts of products that are geared toward creating a lighter skin tone.
Although there isn’t a launch date for the cosmetic line as of yet, we can only hope that this is the first step toward diversifying the cosmetic counter.
