Columbus Short is back and better than ever in another new TV hit series. It’s his first major TV show since he left Scandal back in 2014.
According to E! Online, Short has joined the cast of TV One’s original horror film franchise, Fear Files.
On Friday, March 13 (nice…) Short will be playing City Councilman Harvey Jordan in the short film Fear. Jordan’s plan to build a football stadium in a low income neighborhood creates tension and conflict within the community. Suddenly, a deadly fire burns down the last resident standing in the way of his project plans, and people begin to suspect that the death was planned by Jordan, rather than an accident.
The truth begins to haunt Jordan. In order to get the heat off his back from the media, he must charm reporter Kelisia Waters (played by Erica Hubbard) to help drive the attention away from him.
Short left ABC’s Scandal after the season three finale, which ended in his character Harrison backed in a corner with his life at stake. At the beginning of the fourth premiere, we learned Short’s character had been killed off. That’s when Harrison took to social media to confirm his good-bye:
“At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today. I would like to first thank Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast,” Short said in a statement released by his publicist.
But if it were possible, Short also mentions that he would love to work with Shonda Rhimes by saying, “…As far as Shonda’s shows, I would love nothing more to go back to Scandal. It’s my family.”
