The “Talk” is “All About Eve”  Rapper/actress Eve will have to update her resume to squeeze in her latest job experience–talk show host.  The 39 year old “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” rapper is ready to blow the minds of viewers of CBS’ show “The Talk”.  Eve is officially replacing co-host Aisha Tyler who announced last June she was leaving the show after six seasons.  Eve will now join Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Julie Chen and Sara Gilbert as a show regular.  Eve says of her new job, “I think what I’m looking forward to the most is showcasing my personality and who I am now as a woman. In my career, people know me from my music and I have done certain things in entertainment but this is a different avenue for me.”  CBS execs say Eve will bring “a fun and fresh perspective” to the diverse panel.

Tiffany Haddish
NBCUniversal Summer Press Tour, Los Angeles, USA – 20 Mar 2017

Tiffany Haddish-Girl on Fire!   Since their break out Summer movie “Girls Trip” actress/comedian is still riding the wave of success. Last weekend she made history as the first Black female stand-up to  host the “SNL”, but no time to linger in glowing reviews as she signs on for two more movies.  Haddish will join an ensemble cast to star in “The Kitchen”–a story set in  1970’s Hell’s Kitchen revolves around the wives of mobsters who take over the reigns when their husbands are arrested.   When filming wraps on that movie, Haddish will team up again with “Girls Trip” producer Will Packer to star in “The Temp”.  The rising star also can be seen alongside Tracy Morgan in TBS’ “The Last OG” and sharing the big screen with Kevin Hart in “Night School”.  As if that’s not enough, Haddish’s book “The Last Black Unicorn” is set for a December 5 release and she’s launching her new “She Ready” stand-up tour next year.

Taraji Knows “What Men Want”   The “Empire” star is on-board for a film reboot that turns the gender roles of the original film upside down.  The original movie starred Mel Gibson as the man who following a freakish accident could read women’s minds and knew exactly “What Women Want”. This time, the movie stars Taraji P. Henson as a sports agent who gains the power to hear men’s thoughts and uses her new insight to advance her career.  Henson teams up again with her “No Good Deed” producer Will Packer.  The film is slated to hit theaters in 2019.

For this week’s look at Black celebrities in the spotlight, that’s a wrap!
