France Wants Obama for their Next President: Trump Blames Obama for “Anti-Trump” Protests
by G. Brown
With teary eyes, the country said farewell to President Obama as he handed the mantle over on January 20th. After an embattled eights years, in the final weeks, many realized you don’t know what you’ve got ’til its gone. Gone was Obama’s diplomacy, his leadership, his swag, his sense of humor. The end of the 44th president’s two terms should also have meant the end of the constant criticizing and the thinly veiled racism that manifested as as the refrain”blame Obama”. Well, it seems Donald Trump has decided to resurrect the ‘blame Obama’ game.
In a recent interview with FOX News, Trump used bait disguised as a reporter’s question to imply that former President Obama is behind the wave of protests aimed at Trump. The reporter asked, “Do you believe President Obama is behind it and if he is, is that a violation of the so-called unsaid presidents’ code?” That’s one of those questions like ‘sir, do you still beat your wife?’ Answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and you are still condemning yourself. Trump answered…”No, I think he is behind it. I also think it is politics, that’s the way it is. You never know what’s exactly happening behind the scenes. You know, you’re probably right or possibly right, but you never know … I think that President Obama is behind it because his people are certainly behind it. And some of the leaks possibly come from that group, which are really serious because they are very bad in terms of national security. But I also understand that is politics. In terms of him being behind things, that’s politics. And it will probably continue.”
Sooooo….huh? Apparently Trump doesn’t think the former President is actually getting on the phone and calling people to tell them to protest, but he does seem think that Obama supporters and people still loyal to him are behind the protests and leaks.
Trump has taken the idea of “victim” to a whole new level. The media is to blame for not following FOX News and only reporting all the wonderful things he does…the fallen Navy seal who died during the Yemen raid is the military’s fault…the Oscars Best Picture fiasco happened because Hollywood was “too focused” on making Trump look bad…and he lost the popular vote by nearly three million because of all the illegal immigrants who voted(which didn’t happen). A crucial part of moving forward after any kind of blunder is too own it…acknowledged you messed up, learn from it and do better next time. But how can that happen if you blame everyone else for your mistakes?
The campaign is over…you won, now do the frickin’ job. Stop fretting about Hillary winning the popular vote and former President Obama’s popularity. When Obama was in the White House, he was heavily criticized (almost daily by right wing media like FOX News) but he never played the ‘poor me, I’m a Black man and a victim’ card. He stood tall and toughed it out. Which is probably some of the reason he left office with such a high approval rating. A rating that is still gaining him popularity both here and abroad. Obama is so popular that other countries want him for their president. “Obama17′ petitions are circulating in France to get our former president on their ballot. The petition reads, “Barack Obama has completed his second term as president of the United States … why not hire him as president for France?” Trump will probably blame Obama’s popularity as a plot to make him look bad.
