In a political atmosphere where even allies are throwing the president under the bus, why would Steve Harvey step up to defend him? As the FBI, Justice Department and all the rest of the alphabet soup that makes up our nation’s intelligence community finally closed the door on that crazy “Obama tapped Trump Tower” conspiracy, Harvey opens the door to another Pandora’s Box.
TRN told you yesterday how Harvey used his radio show to share a friendly warning with Snoop, T.I. and other rappers who are very vocal about their dislike of the current president. Harvey warned, “The problem with all this is that there is an office in this country called the ‘president,’ and you have to respect the office. You really do. Whether you want to or not. You have to respect the office. They got laws … I would hate for anything to come down…and everybody that’s coming to Snoop’s defense, I understand…just be smart with what you say. See don’t compound the problem here”. Basically, Harvey is discouraging the young Black men from publicly criticizing the president or at least to curb the harsh tones and language.
Harvey offered the advice after Snoop’s recent release of his “Lavender (BADBADNOTGOOD) video that shows the rapper pulling a fake gun to the head of a fake Trump dressed as a clown. It’s raw, brutal and Snoop’s freedom of expression.
Harvey also called out T.I. who has not minced words in the past about how he feels about Trump. Now that T.I. has heard what Harvey had to say…the Atlanta rapper has a response…and Harvey probably won’t like it.
T.I. posted a screenshot of Trump’s tweet calling for “Jail Time” for Snoop and added his two cents plus a little more. According to XXLMag.com, T.I. said in the post, ““@Snoopdogg is a Fuckin Legend you Fuckin Tangerine Tanned Muskrat scrotum skin, Lacefront Possum fur wig wearing, Alternative face, Atomic Dog diarrhea face ass man!!!!,”
And T.I. still had some words left over for Harvey posting on IG, “We respect those who respect US. We respect those who respect themselves. Emergency message to you my brother…#GetOut.” That hashtag refers to the movie “Get Out” which revolves around a horror plot of White people stealing the bodies of younger, Black people and replacing their minds. T.I. wasn’t alone in his idea that Harvey was way off base….here’s what users on Twitter thought….
And many of our TRN readers agree…
But two of TRN’s readers did agree with Harvey in principle though not necessarily in his choice of words…
