Is This Minaj Photo of A Role Model? Eve Says NO!

Nicki Manaj wanted a photo that would break the internet.  Instead, the photo shows something is broken–maybe good taste, morality or something.

The 34 year old posed for the ‘Minaj a trois’ photo which is being featured on the cover of Paper magazine’s December issue.  The image shows three versions of the “Anaconda” singer scantily clothed in pasties, short shorts and thigh high boots.

This is hardly the first (or the last more than likely) time that Minaj has shared the screen of photos with images of herself.  In Kanye’s “Monster” video from 2010 the rapper showed the light and dark sides of her personality with the good side being tortured by the bad.

The rapper has amassed millions of fans worldwide and built her brand into an estimated $70 million jackpot in the last seven years.  Sine her debut “Pink Friday” album in 2010, Minaj has constantly been at the top of the charts and in big demand for shows like “American Idol” where a stint as a celebrity judge netted her $12 million.  When it comes to music, Minaj can do no wrong…but when it comes to this photo, fellow rapper Eve finds a lot wrong.

Eve said from her new gig as one of the co-hosts on “The Talk”, “I worked with Nicki, I got to know her on ‘Barbershop’… she’s a nice person, she’s an amazing rapper, and as a lyricist I respect her… but as a woman, from my point of view, personally, I would not be able to do that...”   The 39 year old Eve says every artist has the right to express themselves, but she thinks this picture is wrong especially in this climate of sexual predators being brought to light.  Eve adds, “For me personally, as I started coming up in the business, I started realizing that young girls were looking up to me and younger people were looking up to me, and that, not that you want to be a role model, but it becomes what you become, it is what you are.  I’d just rather be a voice that’s uplifting… I can be a voice for those girls that might not have a voice, in a different way without showing myself off …”

Eve says she loves and respects Nicki but this, “I just don’t think it’s right. Personally. Period.

What do you think…is this art or bordering on pornographic?  What message is it sending to young fans both girls and boys?
