Harvey is a name that Houston residents will never forget.  Hurricane Harvey hit Southeast Texas on Friday bringing at least 25 inches of rain over the weekend.  The rainfall shattered previous records, left at least two people dead, numerous other people injured and more than 300-thousand more without power.

Thousands of people had to be rescued as Harvey wreaked  havoc and heartache for Houston residents.  Forecasters are saying the worst is not over even as the rain dissipates during the week, intermittent showers expected to add to flooding.  FEMA predicts Hurricane Harvey will force at least 30,000 people to flee their homes and seek help at temporary shelters.  High winds and flooding have made conditions almost impossible for emergency crews to get a complete assessment of all the damage.

In times of social distress, people often do whatever they can to let victims know they are not alone.  That usually means offering words of prayer and encouragement on social media.  Houston’s most famous native didn’t forget her hometown.  Beyonce shared her thoughts on the hurricane ravaging Houston and her home-state with her 106 million Instagram followers…

Beyonce’s former Destiny’s Child member and fellow Houston native Kelly Rowland also reached out with words of encouragement.  Showing her pride and love for home state Rowland posted, “Houston has, and always will be the city that changed my LIFE! Everyone please send out prayers for H-Town!”

Comedian/actor Kevin Hart is challenging people to do more than post on social media.  Hart donated $25k to the American Red Cross and he is urging others to step up and lend a hand.  Hart  turned to his instagram post to plead for help saying, “I think we’ve participated in a lot of challenges on the internet.  Some meaningful, some meaningless, but we’ve done ’em.  At this point I’m going to issue a real challenge.”

Hart specifically  called out Beyonce, Chris Rock and Justin Timberlake to open not just their hearts but their wallets and donate to relief funds.

If you would like to help hurricane Harvey victims, you can always contact reputable and established charities like the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS or you can text the word “HARVEY” to 90999 and make a $10 donation.

The city of Houston after being overwhelmed with inquiries by people who want to help has set up a HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF FUND  to accept tax deductible donations.  Just click on the link and you’ll be redirected to the donation page.  You can also mail checks/Money Orders to Greater Houston Community Foundation 5120 Woodway Drive, Suite 6000, Houston, TX 77056.

Computer titan Apple is working in conjunction with the Red Cross to collect donations and  has set up a donation link on iTunes and via its App Store.  You learn more by clicking this Apple link to go directly to their website to learn more.  Just scroll down until you see the American Red Cross logo and click on it to make a donation.

  1. To be honest, I thought the same thing. I haven’t researched it recently, but I thought I read somewhere that the technology is available to control the weather. Also that planes can spray chemicals in the air over these neighborhoods to manipulate the weather.

  2. As I previously stated, I beleive in conspiracy. If Hurricane Harvey is a natrual disaster, so be it. Hurricane Harvey could also be a man made hurricane; a psyop designed to distract Americans and damage the lives of the two and a half millin Americans living in Houston. By the way many middle class and rich black people live in Houston. If yhou don’t think the American government can commit a terrorist act against itself, look up Operation Northwoods and High Freqency Active Auroral Reasearch Project HAARP.

  3. Some things I want to mention about this terrible incident:

    1. The Mayor is Houston is a black man name Sylvester Turner. During Hurricane Katrina, the Mayor of New Orleans was a black man name Ray Nagin

    2. Both Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Harvey hit the United States in late August

    3. Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans when former President George Bush had low approval ratings

    4. Hurricane Harvey hit Houston when President Donald Trump has extremely low approval ratings

    5. Both President George Bush and Donald Trump are Republicans

    6. During Hurricane Katrina, Mayor Ray Nagin was heavily criticized by mainstream media for being incompetent.

    7. Currently, Mayor Sylvester Turner is being criticized by mainstream media for being incompetent.

    8. Cities of New Orleans and Houston are heavily populated by black people. Both cities are populated with black people who own their own businesses and are considered affluent.

The coincidences of both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Katrina are uncanny. I don’t believe in coincidence, I believe in conspiracy. #HAARP #PrayForHouston
