“Sextuplets” Starring Marlon, Marlon, Marlon, Marlon, Marlon & Marlon Marlon Wayans has a new role…well, actually six roles for his upcoming Netflix movie, “Sextuplets”. Wayans stars as man on a mission to find his birth mom. The first thing he discovers on his personal journey is that he has siblings…five of them to be exact. And even more shocking, he learns he is one of a set of sextuplets. Audiences will notice the family resemblance right away since Wayans is playing the roles of all his siblings. Wayans also helped write the script. Wayans says, “Excited to be in business with Netflix on yet another project. I love how they embrace comedy and diversity. I am looking forward to doing the thing I love most… comedy,” “Sextuplets” gets underway in Atlanta in September and will be released for streaming on Netflix in 2019.
Mahershala Ali On the Case for “True Detective” It was one of the best kept secrets for the upcoming TV season, until HBO dropped it season preview trailer this weekend. Nestled in between glimpses of “Game of Thrones” and “The Deuce” was a welcomed surprise-Ali in Season 3 of “True Detective”. Ali joins the award winning crime anthology series as Wayne Haynes, a police detective from Arkansas on the trail of a murderer as the story unravels across three separate time periods. “True Detective” won the praise and approval of both critics and the audience in season one, but seems to have lost its footing in season two. USA Today joins the chorus wondering if Oscar winning “Moonlight” star Ali is just what the series needs to get back on track saying, “From the looks of the ‘True Detective’ Season 3 trailer, Mahershala Ali may solve slump.” From the looks of the new full trailer HBO has dropped for the show, Ali is already reeling in anticipation. “True Detective” Season 3 premieres January 2019 on HBO.
Chance the Rapper Serving Up Suspense in “Slice” The cat is out of the bag on another Hollywood secret project “Slice” starring Chance the Rapper joins “Deadpool 2’s” Zazie Beetz in the upcoming release “Slice”. Entertainment news site Shadow and Act reports, “The long-gestating film has been in the works for a while, and not much is known about its plot, even after this trailer. The film was shot in secret during the summer of 2016. ” The article goes on to say ” The story will also take place in an alternate universe that “has these supernatural elements that people accept as reality… where ghosts and werewolves are commonplace, but the overall tone will be a surreal comedy.” Chance stars a pizza delivery driver who winds up in the middle of a serial killer investigation. This is the first feature film for Chance and also stars Zazie Beetz who fans will remember as Domino in “Deadpool 2”. The movie premieres this fall.
