No R-E-S-P-E-C-T For The Queen of Soul At Johnny Rockets

So let me get this straight, waitress at Johnny Rockets:
You mean to tell me that you had the audacity to disrespect the queen of soul? You disrespected the icon known for her international classic, “R-E-S-P-E-C-T?” It’s one thing to yell at anyone at your CUSTOMER SERVICE JOB. It’s another to raise your voice at the elderly (what are you doing yelling at old people anyway!?) But to insult Aretha Franklin? You should be in Ripley’s Believe It Or Not for “Crazy!”
But believe it or not, Franklin tells Daily News in an exclusive interview about what happened with her encounter with the rude waitress at Johnny Rockets in Niagra Falls, Ontario.
After performing at a sold out concert by Lewiston New York, she decided to grab a bite to eat at Johnny Rockets. It seemed that she had ordered takeout but decided to sit at a table.
Suddenly, the waitress comes and tells Franklin, “You can’t sit there.”
She told Daily News, “I said, ‘Excuse me, what do you mean I can’t sit here?” She was also with her nephew at the time.
The worker then tells Franklin that seats are only for people who are eating in. Franklin calmly told her. “Ok, I’ll have it here,” she recalled.
“You can’t have it here because we’ve already rang you up as a takeout customer.” The waitress told her. Franklin and her nephew were shocked by the reply. That’s just the tip of the ice-berg.
The worker then ORDERS her to get up and stand outside the perimeter of the eatery, which was in a food court.
“I got up and walked out,” Franklin said. “I said, ‘You should eat it yourself and you pay for it.’ ”
The waitress obviously didn’t know who she was talking to, and after the nephew told her who his aunt was, she made it clear when she said she didn’t care who Aretha Franklin was. But really, it doesn’t matter if a bum on the street ordered food (somehow), you don’t treat customers that way!
Johnny Rockets, you’re slippin’.
