Omarosa’s New Gig With An Old Twist, Mo’ VS Ro Twitter Beef: Black Celebrity Wrap Up
by Ms. Black Hollywood
Omarosa Back to Realty TV Roots We can all sleep peacefully, America’s favorite person to hate has landed another well paid gig back where it all started–reality TV. Omarosa Manigault Newman is heading straight from the reality TV-ish White House of the current administration to a stint on CBS’ “Celebrity Big Brother”. Omarosa made headlines earlier this year after she was reportedly unceremoniously escorted from the White House after she was fired from her position as director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison for the Trump administration (nope, still don’t know what that job meant). Omarosa dropped hints that she was working on a tell all book, but reportedly no one seemed interested. So now, the woman who got her start on reality TV under Trump on “The Apprentice” is going back to what she’s
knows. CBS announced the cast for the new season of the show which also includes another reality star Brandi Glanville, “Cosby Show” alum actress Keisha Knight Pulliam and former pro baller Metta World Peace. Big Brother Celebrity Edition hits CBS on Feb 7.
Mo Vs Ro Twitter Beef Some Twitter beefs make sense, like two rappers, two reality stars feuding over whatever, and so on. But a nationally known journalist and a comedian/actress is one of those rare beefs. Journalist TV Roland Martin made a name for himself by saying what’s on his mind and that didn’t change when beleaguered comedian Mo’Nique who’s been raging against Netflix and unfair low pay for Black women turned said rage on Martin. The “Precious” Oscar winning star posted, “Brother Roland, please listen, we getting ready to do press. I appreciate your fight, however, where is your fight for EQUALITY when it comes to your sisters. Let’s talk brother.” Somebody should have told Mo’Nique that Martin used to host “News One Now”, but that does not mean he is the one to pick a twitter fight with. Martin’s response…
Not clear on why Mo’Nique targeted Martin, but he finished spelling it out for her with a follow up tweet saying, “Mo’Nique, the fact that you are even asking the question about what I have done to fight for equality and sisters show you don’t know…I don’t talk about it. I DO IT. Have done it my whole career. I don’t need to talk. I put in the work.” Looks like Martin may emerged the victor in this twitter war.
For this week’s look at celebrity life, that’s a wrap!
