One Star Headed Down the Aisle While Another Heads to Divorce Court: Celebrity Wrap Up

by TRN Staff Writer,

Tamar & Vincent Call It Quits                                           After nine years of marriage, Tamar Braxton and husband Vincent Herbert have apparently decided that happily ever after isn’t in the cards for their union.  TMZ says “Tamar filed divorce docs Tuesday in L.A. County. She and Vincent have been married for nearly 9 years — they’re one month shy of their anniversary. Tamar and the record exec have one child together — their 4-year-old son, Logan Vincent.”

Tamar was first introduced to the world as the younger sister of singer Toni Braxton in their reality show “Braxton Family Values”.    In 2013, Tamar released her solo album “Love and War”.  That same year, Tamar joined FOX’s “The Real” talk show as one of five co-hosts.  Tamar was hired because of her brash, unfiltered opinions which apparently were the same reasons that led to her sudden departure from the show last year.

Court papers cite “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, but BET reports that the marriage folded under the weight of several factors including “fights” and “money issues.”  BET quotes people close to the couple who said, “We knew it was coming for a long time. There were cracks in her marriage for years, but it just kept getting worse and worse.  There was lots of fighting, lots of yelling, lots of threats, but as soon as they’d go out in public, they’d act as if nothing was wrong .”

Wedding Bells Ringing Again for Star Jones    Journalist and lawyer Star Jones seems to have found love for the second time around.  The Jasmine Brand reports Jones is engaged to her boyfriend Ricardo Lugo who she began dating last year.  The website quotes Jones who said of her new love, “He’s wonderful. I’m happy and that;s all anybody outside of my family needs to know.”  Lugo is an assistant state attorney  in Illinois”.

Jones first marriage to investment banker Al Reynolds ended in 2008 after four years.  Jones is a former co-host of ABC’s long running “The View” and hosted her own show on Court TV which aired its final episode in 2008.

For this week’s look at celebrity life, that’s a wrap!

No comment (except that I wish Star Jones the best and I also pray for Tamar Braxton during her difficult time).
