“Controversy” Surround Unsealed Records on Death of Prince Just four days before the year anniversary marking the death of iconic performer Prince, reports emerged from newly unsealed court records that the “Purple Rain” singer’s home was full of painkiller pills, some in bottles that were labeled as aspirins but contained much stronger drugs. The medical examiner says Prince died from an accidental overdose of the opioid fentanyl. The documents also claim that bottles of painkillers were found in the singer’s Paisley Park home and many of the prescriptions did not belong to Prince but to friends and band members. According to one search warrant issued on the April 21, the day Prince was found dead in his home, investigators found not only fentanyl, but also Vicodin and Percocet in bottles stashed around the home including inside a suitcase. A doctor who says Prince was under his care at the time of his death released a statement through his lawyer saying “…contrary to headlines and media reports published in the wake of today’s unsealing of search warrants relating to the investigation, Dr. Schulenberg never directly prescribed opioids to Prince, nor did he ever prescribe opioids to any other person with the intent that they would be given to Prince,” CNN reports that “The day before Prince died, his team called an eminent opioid addiction specialist in California seeking urgent help for the singer…” By the time a representative from the doctor’s office arrived, Prince was already dead.

La La and Melo Not So Melo Marital Problems TMZ is reporting that divorce may be ahead for NBA player Carmelo Anthony and his wife Alani “La La” Vazquez. The couple married in 2010 when their son Kiyan was three years old. La La is just as famous as her husband and stayed by his side during some bad times like marijuana possession, DUI arrests and that infamous Knicks-Nuggets beat down at the Garden which led to his 15 game suspension. According to TMZ, this latest Anthony antic is too much for La La. TMZ quotes multiple sources who claim that Anthony is having a baby with another woman. TMZ says, “the other woman often works at a gentlemen’s club in NYC, and we’re told she’s claiming to be 6 and a half months pregnant with Melo’s child.” TMZ also says, “Sources close to both Melo and La La are telling us the marriage has been rocky for a while — and while the pregnancy wasn’t the tipping point, it certainly didn’t help.” So far, no word that La La or Melo have filed any court papers.
