Racism rising, the direction of the U.S. looks unsure with a Trump presidency drawing near, Christmas money is a bit sketchy and your bae probably has been acting like the Grinch. All reason enough for TRN to find a video for you this week that promises “It’s got to get better.”
A friend on Facebook shared an uplifting video from Pastor and gospel singer Hezekiah Walker that is worth sharing with our readers. Walker and his Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church Choir have recorded 15 albums including 1987’s “I’ll Make It”, “Live in New York by Any Means” in 1995 and “Souled Out” in 2008. Walker is a two time Grammy Award winner for Best Gospel Album by a choir.
Walker’s LFT choir being made up of more youthful singers, tend to lean a little towards the more secular sound of hip-hop much like Mary Mary and Kirk Franklin. Walker’s Brooklyn, NY based megachurch also attracts some hip-hop celebs like P. Diddy and Lil’ Kim who worship there. Walker is sometimes respectfully and affectionately known as “the hip-hop Pastor.
Walker released the video on his Facebook page back in July, but for some reason, the song seems to be resonating with the FB community right now. In July Walker’s posted a message with the video saying, “ I want to remind you that things will get “BETTER” I pray that everyone that watches this video today will see God as your present help in time of trouble. I speak prophetically that as you watch this video today things will start getting “BETTER” in your life. If you know anyone today that needs to smile again and a boost of energy send them this song and video.”
As they say in church–“I receive that!” And TRN uses today’s “Reel Time” video to share that smile and energy burst with you. Here’s Pastor Hezzie with the song some are calling the New Anthem for the World—“Better”.
