The biggest buzz in the world of comedy is the recently announced Maya Rudolph hour-long variety special. Rudolph will make her return to NBC next month with a sketch variety show modeled after classic shows such as the Flip Wilson show.

The network has slated her variety show special, titled The Maya Rudolph Show, to air on May 19 at 10 p.m.

The Saturday Night Live vet will be joined some of her SNL alums and other celebrities such as Kristen Bell, Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen, Craig Robinson, Sean Hayes and Chris Parnell. Janelle Monáe will pop up as the musical guest, while Raphael Saaddiq will serve as bandleader.

The one-hour special, which also could double as the pilot for an ongoing series, is being executive produced by SNL‘s Lorne Michaels. Rudolph, who has starred in the blockbuster hit Bridesmaids is most known for her 11 years on Saturday Night Live. She is also the daughter of the late singer Minnie Riperton.
