Simone vs Gravity-SIMONE WINS! You would think 5 Olympic Gold Medals would weigh down pint-size Simone Biles, but she proved in Kansas City this weekend that not gravity can stop her. Competing in the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championship, Biles charted a new entry into the history books. While doing her routine on the balance beam, Biles saved the best moved for last. As she flipped her way into her dismount, Biles landed a double-twist, double somersault.
No one could top Simone…except, Simone. So on Sunday, she bested herself by becoming the first woman to perfect the triple-twist, double flip. Here’s what that looks like in extreme slow motion so you don’t miss a twist…

Her history-making moves drove the crowd and social media wild. On Twitter, @jasongay proclaimed, “Simone Biles keeps making a case as the greatest athlete on the planet…. “; @RachelWenitsky said, “sometimes i’m like oh man being a comedy writer is so hard all the jokes have been done and then simone biles is just out there inventing new gymnastics???”
and others fans were collectively losing it as well…

#SimoneBiles in the past 3 days:
▪️ 1st woman to land double-double dismount
▪️ 1st woman to do triple-double in competition on floor
▪️ Tied for most U.S. all-around titles (6)
This may force gymnastics to overhaul its code of points

Fun fact: Simone Biles is actually still rotating in the air right now. Will update when she lands.

At only 22 years old, Biles isn’t resting on her past wins but forging the future with records that contenders will one day hope to beat.
