Singer Jill Scott’s Husband Gearing Up for A Dirty Fight in Divorce
by TRN Staff Writer,
Grammy award winner Jill Scott’s marriage sounds like a playlist of some of her hits from “So In Love” to “Hate on Me”. After almost a year and a half as man and wife, Scott and husband Mike Dobson are calling it quits. Scott has reportedly filed for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would unsafe and improper.”–what does that mean?. According to website Hello Beautiful, “The grounds listed in Scott’s divorce petition could range anywhere from meaning cruel treatment, infidelity, verbal or physical abuse or sexual impropriety, according to Tennessee law, where the couple exchanged their vows.”
The site goes on to quote an interview given by the songstress’ soon to be ex who said he never saw their current separation and pending divorce coming. But if a woman scorned can have vengeance, then a man scorned can too and Dobson is telling all about his pain. Dobson said of Scott, “She’s an evil woman…I’m telling you. It’s like what Jill Scott wants, Jill Scott gets. People are in her ear, and if someone comes in to challenge the dumb s**t, they made me be the bad guy and that got me outta there.”
Dobson goes on to say, “She’s got issues. There’s no men in that family, there’s only women. And when a man comes in, it’s like a challenge…She likes to emasculate men – that’s her problem. I told her, she’s from Philly, but I’m from New York, and if you want to try to disgrace me, try to slander me, I can fight dirty. ”
It sounds like Dobson is speaking from a broken heart and sour grapes. But putting Scott down certainly won’t win her back. And his biting words are simply setting up the precursor to what looks like it may turn into one pretty nasty court fight.
Marriages break apart all the time, especially for celebrities, but ending it amicably allows to get to the healing just that much sooner. A nasty court fight fought in the media and on social media just leaves two people already wounded by love also wounded by breaking up that love.
