Issa Rae Not “Insecure” Following New HBO Deal Actress Issa Rae has secured a deal that should give her a taste of the “Sweet Life” if her shows are as successful as her current “Insecure”. Rae has come up with two new shows that have been greenlit by HBO. Her first show is a half hour comedy about the romantic life of a bisexual Black man trying to find the right balance in “Him or Her”. Rae’s second offering is the hour long drama “Sweet Life” that centers around teens who live the lavish life in a neighborhood known as “the Black Beverly Hills”. Vulture Magazine says “Sweet Life” “sounds like a black 90210“. Landing the HBO deal could mean a very happy—and very busy New Year for Rae who also will be back for season three of hit show “Insecure”.
