Looks like the new drama “Empire” featuring Terrence Howard is getting ready to premiere on FOX. From the looks of all the financial hardships the actor is going through with his ex-wife, the timing couldn’t have been better.
And when we say hardships, it may as well be an understatement. Despite his new son on the way with current wife Miranda, Howard has been dealing with drama from A-Z including spousal support drama, domestic assault accusations, getting evicted, and lawsuits galore.
By the grace of the spirit above, 2015 may just the year he needs to turn things around.
In the new show “Empire,” Howard takes on a darker role as Lucious Lyon, a former gangster in charge of the biggest hip hop record label in the industry. Suddenly, he learns he has a disease that will leave him crippled and incapacitated in the next three years. Because of this, he has to choose a successor out of his three sons without creating turmoil in his already damaged family.
Howard is very excited for the role. When asked about the show, he says:
“The premise is basically King Lear and the tragic tale of a father who has attained great wealth, great respect, great honor, has a family. His wife (Taraji P. Henson) has been separated from him for 17 odd years, the woman that helped him build his kingdom, his empire. He’s got two sons, Jamal and Andre, and then he has one son that’s not sure of his sexuality, that he won’t accept as his own.”
From that plot alone, you already know something is going to pop off drama-wise. Three sons battling for the throne? A disease, that will cripple you in three years, and a gangster background? This show sounds exciting at the least.
Do you think this show will help Terrence Howard bounce back?
