The temperature isn’t the only thing heating up as we head into the official summer box office binge. The official trailer for Creed II just dropped and no need to fear, Luke Cage is back protecting Harlem.
Here’s your First Reel Look at some of the hottest movies and series headed your way this summer.
Creed vs. Drago Rematch in Creed II Michael B. Jordan is back in the boxing ring as Adonis Creed taking on the son of the man who murdered his Dad Apollo Creed in the ring. Creed goes up against Ivan Drago’s son Viktor. The first “Creed” movie brought in $173 million at the worldwide box office…far exceeding its projected gross of only about $35 million. To sweeten the pot, critics loved the movie with one reviewer writing, “It’s a film that could have gone so wrong in so many ways so easily, but the results show something that is genuine and inspired.” “Creed” is the latest installment in the “Rocky” series made popular by star Sylvester Stallone. Jordan and Stallone both reprise their roles as well as co-star Tessa Thompson. The movies also stars Phylicia Rashad and Wood Harris. “Creed II” hits theaters this fall, until then here’s your First Reel Look at “Creed II”.
Harlem’s Hero Is Back: Luke Cage Season Two Drops This Week Get the popcorn ready and fire up Netflix, season 2 of “Marvel’s Luke Cage” is about to drop on a device near you. After ridding Harlem of dangerous underworld villain Cottonmouth in season 1, Cage(Mike Colter) finds himself dealing with his newfound celebrity as the Hero of Harlem and a new nemesis ready to challenge him. His new fans will see their hero take a beating at the hands of Bushmaster played by Mustafa Shakir. Bushmaster also has super powers and the ability to take Cage down. Colter returns in the title role along with Rosario Dawson and Alfre Woodard. Finn Jones who stars in “Marvel’s Iron Fist” is also set to guest star this season in his role as Danny Rand-the Iron Fist. Season 2 of “Luke Cage” will be released on June 22nd.
