The Last Word(s) on Kanye: The Voice of Reason No One Expected

If news cycles were measured on the military readiness, the week of April 22, 2018 would register  DEFCON 1.  News bombs were detonating all week long… Colin Kaepernick is Amnesty’s International Ambassador of Conscience,  Meek Mill is freed from prison while 80 year old Bill Cosby is likely headed to jail on sexual assault conviction. But of all the big stories this week, the one that went full on nuclear is Kanye West’s “free thinking” declaration of  his “love” for Donald Trump.

After a couple of stories on Kanye, TRN tried to let it go, but the Kanye issue just won’t go away.  The “Jesus Walks” rapper is now walking and texting with Trump.

After almost two years of silence, Kanye spoke up to tell the world of his love for Trump.  Here’s some of the world thinks about that.

Kanye has been labeled everything from “modern day philosopher“(FOX News) to “crazy” (Wendy Williams).  A lot of fans are skewering the singer, along with some celebs.  But some of Kanye’s friends are trying to reason with him like singer John Legend who sent him a personal text that Kanye decided to put on blast…

Ok…ok…well, Legend’s words of wisdom seem to miss the mark, so let’s see if another rapper can get through to Kanye  or better yet his wife.  Given this rapper’s scraps, beefs and melt downs on social media, she’s the last person you’d expect to offer some sound logic, but this time she may be spot on.  Azealia Banks responded to Kim Kardasian’s “He’s a free thinker” defense of husband West.  Kim also tweeted…

Banks responded to Kim saying, “No @kimkardashian Kanye is not ahead of his time. I said alllll of these things during the election. Y’all are aggravating the black people at the expense of dragging their outrage into more clicks/streams etc for whatever Kanye is about to drop. Outrage is internet engagement algorithm 101, y’all are not slick.”  Banks also called Kanye a “pseudo-intellectual” before ending with “Kanye will never be the president and you will never ever be the First Lady. Give it up sis.” Say what you will about Banks, but she broke it down to what’s really at play here.

If Kanye wants to be Republican, that’s why we have more than one party.  If Kanye loves Trump…that’s his choice.  But why the need to not only publicize it on social media, but as Banks said “outrage” fans by adding daily posts?  Simple answer–Kanye is playing the Trump card-LITERALLY!  That narcissistic personality disorder that drives Trump to always want to be at the center of the news and the topic of everybody’s conversation is the same game Kanye is playing.

Kanye mentioned in his tweet that he’s about to drop an album. He and the Kardashians already filmed a “Family Feud” episode, according to Steve Harvey, and wow, headlines this week popped up about Kanye and Chris Jenner’s constant fighting.   Kanye is just trolling the world to get press and exposure.  Whether he’s Republican or not, supports Trump or not, doesn’t matter, he’s got everybody talking about him.

Let’s all have a big laugh and see how many of the Black people who make up your fan-base and that you “aggravated” with this PR stunt are still laughing when you want them to buy or stream that next album Kanye.
