Our prayers have been going out to The Wire actor Anwan Glover after a recent incident reported involving him being attacked and stabbed according to multiple sources.

According to a police report from The Washington Post, Glover told investigators he was at Cafe Asia early Sunday when he was attacked by two people.  The first person punched him while the other person struck him over the head. Glover told police that when he was knocked down he felt sharp sensation in his side and was kicked repeatedly.

The actor was taken to a local hospital and treated with lacerations and bruises.

“… I was involved in an altercation with some unknown people. While defending myself, I was stabbed. I was hospitalized and have been released. I am not a stranger to adversity and when shown hate, I’m going to spread love. I am recovering and will be [back] soon. My flesh may be stabbed but my spirit is unbreakable,” Glover says.

Glover is indeed no stranger to adversity and altercation.  Glover had been shot several times in his pas, according to Washington, D.C., CBS affiliate WUSA reports

Not to sound insensitive in any way, shape or form, but is it rather ironic that he would get jumped by random thugs, while being known for playing a gang member in the hit TV series, The Wire?  That’s kind of interesting how that event would play out.

However, the 41-year old actor is also known for most recently playing in the Oscar-winning film 12 Years a Slave, in case you didn’t recognize him.

Glove, just know that our concern for you will never rest until you are completely recovered.  Whoever attacked you for whatever reason will get what’s coming to them one way or another.  In the meantime we hope to see you better in no time.
