1-America’s Most Admired Man  A recent Gallup poll asking Americans which man they most admire placed former president Barack Obama at the head of the pack with 17% of votes.  The second place slot goes to Donald Trump with 14% making him a member of a small group of six other presidents who failed to win the first place poll position while they were the incumbent.  As for Obama, this isn’t the first time he’s won America’s most admired man competition–he won the first year he was elected and each year he was in the White House giving him a total of 10 wins in the poll.  And in case you’re wondering whose the most admired woman in that Gallup poll…surprise, surprise-Hillary Clinton took top honor after edging out former first lady Michelle Obama by 2%.

2-Mike Epps Accused of Stealing Comedian actor Mike Epps might have been on top of the world after getting the greenlight for a new TV show pitch to BET, but it was a quick fall to legal problems.  According to TMZ, the show “Social Awards”was already scheduled for a February launch, but now three producers say Epps stole the show idea from them.  The show would spotlight outstanding work among people who are having a major impact…a positive idea, but whose idea is it?  The three producers have lawyered up according to TMZ and have issued a “cease and desist letter” claiming “they pitched an eerily similar show called “Social Media Awards” to Epp’s cousin, hoping to get Mike on board. We’re told the producers never heard back from Epps and were blindsided a few weeks ago when BET announced it green-lit “Social Awards.”  The three producers have also issued an ultimatum for Epps to resolve the matter by the end of the week…or else.

3-Solange Cancels New Year’s Eve Performance Due to Health Problems   Singer/DJ and  little sister of superstar Beyoncé Solange Knowles has canceled her AfroPunk festival in South Africa because of health concerns.  The singer told fans following her on IG … “The past five months I have been quietly treating, and working through an Autonomic Disorder,“.  The singer added that it’s” been a journey that hasn’t been easy on me.”  The Mayo Clinic describes autonomic nerve disorders as affecting a person’s involuntary functions and can cause a multitude of symptoms including problems regulating heart rate, body temperature and bladder functions.  The condition can also cause fatigue, cognitive impairment and cause one to pass out.  Solange says “It’s a complicated diagnoses” and that she is still learning about the condition herself.  She says her doctors are not clearing her to perform the New Year’s concert and apologized saying it saddens her , but she promises to return for a concert in Johannesburg sometime next year.

4-Azealia Banks vs. Wendy Williams   Talk show host Wendy Williams is known for speaking her mind no matter what crosses her mind.  When the recent Remy Ma/Azaealia Banks beef was lighting up social media, Williams jumped on the hot topic on her show highlighting a particular post where Banks allegedly mentioned wanting vaginal rejuvenation.  Williams commented, “Now we understand how she gets her money. She’s got no kids and she’s 26, with a vaginal rejuvenation? Wow. she works hard for her money.” Banks responded on IG, “Wendy is getting sued top of 2018.”  The post has since been deleted.
