The only thing bigger than NFL teams squaring off on the grid iron this weekend was Donald Trump squaring off against EVERYBODY over pro athletes protesting during the national anthem.
Trump kicked off the hostilities while speaking in Alabama on Friday where he said, ” Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, you’d say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired.” The harsh criticism was aimed specifically at former SF 49er Colin Kaepernick who started a movement when he refused to stand during the national anthem in protest of the wave of police brutality against Blacks.
Until now, Kaepernick’s protest was followed by a smattering of players here and there. After Trump’s attack, instead of six or so players kneeling for the anthem, as many as 200 players and owners joined the protest before taking the field.
Since he was already on a roll, Trump decided to double down on insulting Black athletes and resend a White House invite to the Golden State Warriors because Steph Curry hesitated in saying if he would skip the visit or not. Trump in true megalomaniac form ego tripped and tweeted that since Curry took so long to decide the team was dis-invited.
Those who didn’t #takeaknee took the time to tell Trump what they thought of his all his antics on Twitter…
U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!

And I doubt he’s man enough to call any of those players a son of a bitch to their face…

It’s really sad man … our president is a asshole

This symbolic brawl was the equivalent of what you see at soccer matches where everybody jumps in on the melee–even singer Steve Wonder joined the protest before one of his concerts…
After a week where so many more national and global issues loomed, the U-S and North Korea still flirting with war and another diabolical attempt to overhaul Obamacare, Trump decided to turn his attention to sports? No, what Trump was doing is what he’s been doing since he first decided to run for president-namely, seizing an opportunity to cause chaos, confusion and division.
His MO (modus operandi) hasn’t changed. Trump started his Black attack in Alambama–around his base of supporters. Why doesn’t he ever make these stunning statements in DC. NYC or Chicago? Because he knows he’ll be run out of town by protesters. Trump never condemned the White supremacists who caused a woman’s death in Charlottesville Virginia, but instead called them “good people” while he referred to Black athletes who protest as “son[s] of bitch[es]”.
And while the rest of the world is screaming in angst and anger, no one notices that Donald Trump Jr. declines to have secret service security any longer because he needs his privacy. Interesting he needs privacy now as the Russia investigation seems to be closing in collusion targets. Nobody notices that it was revealed that Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort agreed to give a Russian billionaire “private briefings” during the campaign a revelation that establishes a concrete collusion trail between the Trump campaign and a foreign nation to influence the outcome of the election. Who has time to worry or care about football when their political existence is on the line? Trump because he doesn’t care about football or basketball. What he cares about is whipping his supporters into a foaming at the mouth frenzy and the best way to do that is to pick a fight with minorities—he always tried Mexicans and Muslims, it was Blacks turn again.
None of this “fire them” crap is anything except more subterfuge to keep people away from the real story.
Kaepernick’s protest has nothing to do with the American flag that Trump claims he disrespected. How does a protest disrespect the flag? If anything, the ideals sewn into the stars and stripes is a symbol of the freedom of speech that grants Kaepernick the right to protest. Nothing about Trump’s crazy attack made sense or has any meaning. It’s just him blowing his dog whistle for his White supremacists, alt-right and neo-Nazi’s to gather. Don’t let Trump’s crazy, outlandish attacks be a dog whistle to cause the opposition to get whipped into a blind frenzy as well.
The more Trump tries to tear the country apart, the more people seem to unite in protests and in speaking out against him. Trump launching another attack on minorities in the nation he’s sworn to serve… nothing new…nothing to see here… except how that Russian investigation is developing.
