Tyler Perry No Good Deed Goes Unpunished on Twitter   Actor/writer/director Tyler Perry might need to hide out as “Madea” until the storm is over and his fans calm down.  Perry’s good deed of reportedly donating $250k to Joel Osteen’s Houston church brought on the wrath of fans.  Osteen trended on Twitter last week after he closed his doors to Houston residents who were forced out of their homes due to Hurricane Harvey.  After he became the target of some Twitter hate, Osteen turned the other cheek and opened his 17-thousand seat church to families who needed a place to seek shelter.  Perry dove into the eye of the twitterstorm by trying to do good and donate $1 million to help Texas families.  What’s that saying about “no good deed” because as word spread that $250k of Perry’s donation went to Osteen’s  Lakewood Church, social media did punish…

Perry defends his donation to Osteen and called the Pastor and his wife “amazing people” who he trusts to use the money to help those in need “because that’s the kind of person he is.”

Oprah, Beyonce Join Lineup for Hurricane Harvey Telethon TRN first told you last week about a telethon to get help to families devastated by Hurricane Harvey.   Houston rapper Bun B is the brains behind the telethon which will now be called  “Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief”.  Bun B says, “We reached out to literally every major television network. Everyone was like yeah, let’s do it, so literally within maybe, I would say 72 hours we put together a nationally televised telethon.” Texas native Jamie Foxx signed on to help out day one…now Houston’s most famous daughter Beyonce is scheduled to appear as well as TV mogul Oprah Winfrey along with George Clooney and Julia Roberts.   The telethon will be a one hour event airing September 12 at 8:00 p.m. on the top four major networks ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX  and at least one cable channel. All proceeds will distributed to a number of charities including Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children and the Mayor’s Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief.

For this week’s look at Hollywood Celebrity Life, that’s a wrap!

  1. If that cross dressing coon wants to donate money to a white devil, we should never watch his movies or his plays again. #BoycottTylerPerry

  2. It’s good to know that somebody cares enough to put together a telethon to benefit the lives of families devastated by Hurricane Harvey
