Politics is a lot like social media…MESSY!
Over the weekend, Trump tweeted his most vile, totally unhinged and blatantly racist attack yet against some members of Congress…
….and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how….

The attack was hurled at the progressive Democrats who have been the loudest and biggest challenges to Trump’s bid for dictatorship. Freshman congresswomen Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley have been championing the fight against Trump by calling him and the GOP out on their BS to make America White Again. After Trump posted the incendiary tweet, thousands more called him out on his racism…
And what started as a protest campaign under the heading #RacistPresident, quickly turned into a campaign that elevated the targets of Trump racist rant.

Of course, the President has his defenders though misguided as ever.
This picture doesn’t prove Trump isn’t racist. It does document his history of hitching his wagon to the brightest celebrity in the room at the time and being photographed while trying to ride their coattail to popularity and acceptance. Sharpton, Snoop, Steve Harvey, Kanye…when you have to prove that some of your friends are Black-you really are trying too hard.
And even in the midst of all his racist rhetoric and rants, there are still Blacks who really support Trump. Like BET’s founder Bob Johnson who Atlanta Blackstar says, “…has more recently expressed support for some of Donald Trump‘s policies, according to the outlet. He pointed to the economy specifically, and credited Trump for moving the economy “in a positive direction.” Johnson says the economy is great and African-American unemployment is at its lowest level. Johnson also likes that as a billionaire Trump gave people like him a huge tax cut.
Just because Trump shakes hands with Blacks he thinks he can use to his benefit or saves some rich Black folks a few dollars doesn’t mean he’s not racist. Weighing in favor of his being racist, his hateful speech towards people of color, his action in the form of what’s happening at the Mexican border and his constant pandering to White supremacist groups and the far right.
Of course, this latest rant still fits in with Trump’s 2020 campaign to circle the wagons and incite his base supporters to a frenzied rush to the nearest polls. It’s more mass manipulation. It continues to work with that core group of ride or die supporters. But the wild card those who are still undecided who may find that in the eyes of liberal and progressives, their silence is damning.
