When will these celebrities learn? Unfortunately, only after repeated examples of the hard way.  Rodney Jerkins has made his way on the IRS’s wanted list, owing a ton of money in back taxes.

Music producer Rodney Jerkins got hit with a tax lien of 1.2 million dollars by the IRS.  To make things worse, they’re coming after all of his assets and property according to theJasmineBrand.com.

On April 16th, the government has accused the famous producer and his actress and singer wife, Joy Enriquez of not paying their taxes back in the year of 2012.

Due to neglect of paying back taxes, Jerkins owes the IRS a grand total of $1,226,820.71.

It astounds me how you can owe that much in taxes to the IRS.  Or better yet, how you could allow the total amount you owe ANYTHING to reach as high as 1.2 million!  By the time Uncle Sam is done collecting, Jerkins could end up in prison.

This is exactly how a lot of other celebrities ended up behind bars.  Ask Wesley Snipes who was sent to prison for 3 years back in 2010. The “Blade” actor tried to hide his income by various means.  But Uncle Sam snatch him up too, finding him guilty on three counts of failing to file a federal income tax return. He ended up owing the government $17 million in back taxes plus penalties and interest. He tried to pay off a portion of what he could, but by then it was too late.

Same with Yankees and Mets baseball player Darryl Strawberry.  He avoided paying his taxes for years while playing professional baseball, until Uncle Sam struck him out for tax evasion.

So what’s the moral of the story? Just because you’re a celebrity, doesn’t mean you are above paying taxes.

Do you think that Jerkins and his wife will survive the wrath of the IRS, or will they serve jail time like the others? Share and comment!
